I've completed my write up of the recent skirmish and will be submitting it along with copies of all paper work and first person reports to the Minister's office tomorrow at noon. If anyone in the DMLE has not provided me with copies of their reports to include in the file you have until that time to submit it to me for inclusion.
Obliviators have seen to the memories of the last of the muggle witness and the Muggle Worthy Excuse Committee is circulating the story that the destruction and explosions that took place were the result of anarchist demonstrators related to the October War of 1973. For those interested in muggle history I recommend reading up on the event. It's actually quite interesting from an anthropological stand point. At this point I'd like to emphasize the importance of extra discretion and caution with magic around muggles, so as not to attach any extra strain to the Statute of Secrecy than these skirmishes have caused. Clean up will be stalled until communications with the Egyptian Ministry of Magic are concluded.
In the mean time, two aurors are required to provide a security escort for the representatives from the Accidental Magical Reversal Squad while they comb the battle sites to disarm any live hexes, jinxes, curses, or dark magic left over from the battle. Volunteers?

This is tentative enough that I don't feel comfortable mention this to public Proper, but important enough that I believe saying nothing and filing a preliminary report would be both irresponsible and potentially negligent. Particularly given the recent release of suspected terrorist names in the paper even if. That being said, after further review of the imagery containing the decorative piece scheduled to appear in the upcoming fashion show, it's undeniably the diadem retrieved from the Castle Cachtice.
It’s too early to state a definite plan of action, but in terms of an Intelligence agenda, I think that collecting information would be a key strategic decision to make as soon as possible.
The Diadem
Recovered mid-February (1980) from Cachtice Castle in Romania. Recovery team included Ministry officials Rufus Scrimgeour, Augustus Rookwood, Elladora Guffy, Kingsley Shaklebolt, Georgia Jones, and Regina Fenwick; with specialist assistance from Gilderoy Lockhart and the vampire Isolde Augustine. After examination of the diadem it was revealed to have been a priceless historical artifact, having belonged to Rowena Ravenclaw, one of the formost magical figures and one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchraft & Wizardry. Transporation was then arranged for the diadem to be sent back to London.
As of now the diadem in question is currently in the possession of one Paul Copper (Alias: Frangio). Mr Copper seems to be largely unaware of the nature of the item or the dangers accompanying it.
I'm in the process of compiling a full report and several notifications to be handed to the Minister's office by noon today. However, this is very early and incomplete information and therefore I considered it prudent to open the arena to suggestion, ideas, and additional knowledge. Rather several more sets of minds to say I'm foolish than to go in with no counsel and regret the ensuing lack of readiness. Furthermore, After a tentative scan of post-mission entries, I've decied that forming profiles on all wanted and affiliated-with-wanted individuals should be compiled. Any and all suspicious persons should be reported to me immediately for incorporation into the respective dossiers.

I have a small admission to make.

Welcome to the newly arrived aurors and other Ministry personnel.
As of now, the Minister for Magic has amplified the threat level of the current situation. At approximately 1:00 AM GMT -6, the Dark Mark was observed cast above the intersection near Royal and St Ann St in New Orleans, Louisiana. Upon investigation nine victims were discovered within the immediate area, including eight muggles, murdered by magical means, and one who had been subjected to torture by way of the Unforgivable. These acts have been attributed to the terrorist organization known as the Death Eaters.
Since the discovery of the crime scene several muggles have been questioned in hopes of discovering possible witnesses. One individual, Theresa Weir (57. muggle.), reported hearing shouts and screams, however attributed it to a nearby bar and did not go to investigate. The reports assembled by the local muggle authorities have been recovered. They have been replaced in the muggle archives with altered versions which have been crafted by the Muggle Worthy Excuse Committee in order to reflect non-magical attributes to the case. The original police reports are currently being copied. These will be included in the full briefing files you will be receiving this afternoon.
In light of the uncommon circumstances of the current situation the British Ministry will be working on this case in tandem with two other groups. The first is the vigilante organization known as the Order of the Phoenix. The organization was taken into custody on April 30th, following a distress call sent out to the Ministry. As of now the Minister has issued a temporary pardon and mandated that the organization be permitted to work in tandem with the Ministry personnel. A full list of individual names can be found in section two, page three of the briefing file.
As the situation has been deemed an international issue and occurred on American soil, the British Ministry will also be working with the United States Ministry of Magic. A dispatch of aurors from the American Ministry will be arriving shortly. Reports reveal that their Ministry was "displeased by foreign intrusion, but resigned to it's necessity". It is expected that all actions or behavior which would convince them otherwise be stiffed and all cooperation and cordiality be rendered.
Other then the documents and reports related to aforementioned information, new arrivals will also find included in their briefing file a map of the city pre-marked with the crime scene locale. It is advisable that all individuals familiarize themselves with both it as well as the remainder of the data in the files.
